The Truss People supplies Multinail Steelwood structural trusses for residential and light commercial applications across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Steelwood trusses combine solid timber top and bottom chords with galvanised steel diagonal web members — engineered for builds that demand long spans, high load capacity, and reliable performance. Steelwood uses vertical timber compression members and diagonal galvanised steel tension webs, which from an engineering perspective is superior to V-webbed joist systems and can carry higher loads. Floor spans reach up to 10 metres and roof spans up to 20 metres with most sheet roofing materials. Manufactured off-site and delivered when required, Steelwood is simple and efficient to install. It integrates seamlessly with our timber roof trusses, wall frames, and floor joist systems as part of a complete framing solution — and in many cases can reduce traditional concrete slab construction costs by up to 50%.

Delivery
The Truss People operates our own delivery fleet from our Coolaroo manufacturing facility. When your trusses, wall frames, or floor systems are ready, we load them onto our trucks and deliver directly to your building site across Melbourne and regional Victoria by one of our experienced and competent crane truck operators. We don't outsource delivery to third-party transport companies. Our drivers know how to handle timber framing products — they understand the weight, the dimensions, and the care required to get your order to site without damage. That means fewer delays, fewer disputes, and fewer headaches for you. The Truss People and our drivers have experience and understand the requirements for oversize dimensioned loads — we take the headache away from the client and organise everything from escort vehicles, VicRoads permits, and traffic management to get your product to site.
